Declan grew up outside Castlebar and spent years working around drainage, excavation and rural groundworks before establishing Septic Tanks Mayo. He enjoys the problem-solving side of older properties, particularly jobs where the original tank, pipework or percolation layout is no longer obvious from the surface.
Siobhán is from the Westport area and handles customer enquiries, scheduling and the practical information needed before a site visit. She is known in the team for asking customers about gates, access widths and landmarks before anyone sets off, and spends much of her free time walking the Mayo Greenway and local coastal routes.
Eoin is from north Mayo and works on excavation, tank positioning, pipework, percolation groundworks and site reinstatement. He grew up around agricultural machinery and still enjoys restoring older equipment and helping family with farm maintenance when he is not working.
We start with the basics: what is happening, where the property is, what is known about the existing system and how accessible the site is. That information helps us decide whether the next step should be routine emptying, investigation, repair or a larger wastewater project.
On site, the team focuses on the practical sequence of the work while keeping the customer informed about anything that changes once the ground is opened. The aim is to make the finished job work below ground while keeping the process understandable above ground.
